Fact:: The opinion poll by the weekly India Today in its issue dated 25 November 2002 asked a question to its respondents- “Do you feel secure living in Gujarat today?” in which more than 68 % people including more than 56 % Muslims felt secure. While commenting on the entire poll, India Today reported, “Voters have rallied solidly behind the chief minister’s aggressive posturing. They have endorsed his view of the riots being a reaction to Godhra. They approve his fulmination against outsiders who have vilified the state. And they contemptuously dismiss all suggestions that Gujarat has become a dangerous place to live in.”
The newspaper editors lied along with 24-hour TV news channels like NDTV that the whole of Gujarat was burning. Living outside Gujarat and lying about the state, their lies did not go well with the masses. The media lied to such an unimaginable extent that the media itself by now may have started believing its concocted liies.

BJP demolished 300 temples in Gujarat says congress candidate
New Delhi: Congress party is all set to expose BJP’s Hindutva at its hinterland. The party has decided to highlight the issue of demolition of over 290 temples in Gujarat, particularly in Gandhinagar. Modi government had demolished over 290 big and small temples in the name of development causing much resentment in the local people. BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani is seeking re-election from Gandhinagar.
Local citizens had expected that Advani would prevent Modi from ‘irreligious’ demolition but the local MP never showed his displeasure against Modi’s ‘bulldozers. Till now, Advani has not uttered a word of sympathy nor has promised to rebuild the demolished temples.
Talking to TwoCircles.net on phone the congress candidate from Gandhinagar Suresh Kumar Patel said: “This is very emotional issue for us. These people have demolished 300 temples and now they are talking of construction of temple in Ayodhya”. He said that people of Gujarat are very angry over the anti religious activity of Gujarat government. “Even Advani did not speak a word when temples were razed” he said adding the leader of opposition rarely visit the constituency.
Claiming that this time Advani would face defeat by Congress, he said he was a local and now the local people would no more tolerate the double standards of BJP. Patel is currently an MLA from Kalol near Gandhinagar.
Here too a senior leader of the party told this correspondent that the congress would also raise the issue at national level to expose BJP
Modi, considered the poster boy of Hindutva, had launched a demolition drive against illegal structures including temples in November last. Big protest were taken out against Modi over the issue
A “Mandir Bachao Sangharsh Samiti” was also formed but Modi bulldozer stopped only after demolition worked was completed. Sunil Oza, a former legislator of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who later formed Maha Gujarat Janata Party (MJP), said at that time that: “Modi is a true successor of Mahmud Gazni, Babar and Aurangzeb.”

I have no interest in anything except this site- its arguments on the 2002 riots. Unless you actually counter what this site is saying by solid documentation- everything else is rubbish. Your claims that Sangh Parivar unleashed a ‘genocide’ of Muslims etc etc is all laughable- and mere accusations without any documentation.
What I expected was scholarly response. You havent given that.
why don’t you actually start reading scholarly journals and reports that are published in the educated media instead of reading Gujarati or local dailies from which ever village of india u belong too…then you will see that What I talk about is facts, please give me your address so I can send u a copy of documentaries made by acclaimed directors…may be that will help you live a decent life is a corrupted nation…
Get your facts right- remove biased vision- red glasses- and see the work done by the Gujarat government.
