“Let me tell you one thing that 2000 people were butchered mercilessly in 2002 gujarat riots !!”
See Link: http://www.indianexpress.com/news/gujarat-riots-missing-people-to-be-declared-dead/429213/0
Also- the UPA government has given figures of 790 Muslims and 254 Hindus killed in the riots- the link for which is already given. 2000 people cannot be considered to be ‘butchered’- when hundreds of people from both communities have been killed. Also-the community whose 2000 members you claim to have been ‘butchered’ has had other members convicted for rioting and attacking Hindus even after Godhra- which proves that its members were equally on the offensive.
“Modi let the Mass murder happen by not calling the army for 3 days !! Muslim houses were torched in those 3 days and muslim blood was spilt without any restriction !!”
The fact is- that Modi frantically called the Army to Ahmedabad within 1 hour of the start of the riots. The Hindu- published from Chennai reported in its issue dated 1st March 2002- Friday- that Modi “Frantically called the Army to Gujarat”.

“The fact of 98 people being killed in police firing was also overlooked by Modi !! Secondly no serious action was taken by Modi to guve justice to Ehsan Jaffri’s daughters who were raped during the riots”
Well- Ehsan Jafri’s son has himself denied that his sisters were raped. We are sorry for saying this- but before debating with us- kindly come prepared instead of just parroting arguments said by others. (In this case- you are simply copying what Arundhati Roy said- who had copied what Time magazine said in an article by Meenakshi Ganguly). You dont even seem to have read the article- “Myth 11 :In Ehsan Jafri case- women were raped”- but simply gone from what you saw from outside. If you read that article- you will know that even Arundhati Roy accepted her mistake- and admitted that Jafri’s daughters were not raped. And as for justice- the relatives of those killed have been compensated by the Gujarat Government-with 204 crore rupees being spent- as per Sriprakash Jaiswal’s statement in Parliament on 11 May 2005. Rs 1.5 lakh were paid to the kin of each person killed.

“The fact of 98 people being killed in police firing was overlooked by Modi”. Well- this wasnt overlooked by Modi- but by the media and anti-Modi people. You yourself have said this- which shows that you know that police did its duty.

I think modi is resposible for riots

To which we reply:
The context of the use of the word gives its intended meaning. The dictionary meaning of the word may be anything, what The Hindu intends here is obvious to one and all- and that is, as quickly as possible. Second point is- that the time of 1 hour is not mentioned in The Hindu. It is mentioned in India Today weekly dated 18 March 2002.
http://www.indiatoday.com/itoday/20020318/cover2.shtml
The second meaning of frantically quoted by you yourself says “marked by FAST and nervous, disordered, or anxiety-driven activity”. This is a clear proof that it was VERY FAST.
This is again wrong. Riots started on 28 February at 11 AM, not 27 February. The Army was posted on the border and called after the riots began. Between 27 February and 28 February the government had deployed entire police force, reserve police, CRPF personnel, Rapid Action Force. Riots began on 28 February at 11 Am and Army was called frantically at 12 noon, within 1 hour. The statement ” “The Army units, frantically called by the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, as the situation seemed to slip out of hand, started arriving in Ahmedabad and are likely to be deployed in the city on Friday.” DOES NOT IMPLY at all that Army was called only on 1st March. The Army was called on 28 February itself and it started arriving on 28 February itself (Thursday) and arrived so quickly on 28 February that The Hindu had time to report its arrival on 28 Feb night and publish it the next day. Friday was 1st March 2002. In its issue of Friday, The Hindu already reported that Army had started arriving (On 28 Feb night). Far from proving that the Army was called only on 1st March, this only proves that the Army was called on 28 February 2002 itself, and that too frantically. You are hell bent on crucifying Narendra Modi by hook or by crook hence you forcibly tried to shift calling of Army to 1st March from 28 February, when it was called on 28 Feb itself, and forcibly put the beginning of riots to 27 February, when the riots started on 28 February.
As a final point, we would like to say that all charges against Narendra Modi and Gujarat Government started coming in the media AFTER the riots, not during the actual reporting of the riots. One reason for this was that the media wanted Narendra Modi to sack some minister, dismiss some police official etc, but because he refused to make anyone scapegoat, the media finally targeted none other than the Chief Minister himself.

Sir,
In reference to your statement, “the fact is- that Modi frantically called the Army to Ahmedabad within 1 hour of the start of the riots. The Hindu- published from Chennai reported in its issue dated 1st March 2002- Friday- that Modi “Frantically called the Army to Gujarat”.

The merriam-webster dicitionary defines the word ‘Frantically’ as:
1)a archaic : mentally deranged
b : emotionally out of control
2): marked by fast and nervous, disordered, or anxiety-driven activity,
of which none mean either ‘timely’ or ‘instantaneously’, countering the point you are trying to make. Also, nowhere is it mentioned in the article published in ‘The Hindu’ that Modi called the army within one hour. To quote the article, which was published on Friday, Mar 01, 2002,
“The Army units, frantically called by the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, as the situation seemed to slip out of hand, started arriving in Ahmedabad and are likely to be deployed in the city on Friday.” which implies that the army was called on 1/3/02, whereas the riots started on 27/2/02. Two whole days late. Modi did delay calling the army.

All the problem causing people irrespective of the religion be selected and punished(through fast track courts). I’m sure police can do a good job on this.
A life of a good Hindu is equally important to the life of a good Muslim irrespective of majority and minority. Media should also play a responsible role. Don’t just project the incidents which will give them more popularity. I feel sorry for the people who suffered because of the riots in Gujarat!

Actually- this book must be published- as it gives all English language newspaper reports- which are reports from the anti-Hindu press itself. I h ave read much literature on this topic- but none of it contains a comprehensive English media compilation- as this site contains. This book is worth publishing.

There is a lot of valuable material on this site. I find it difficult to understand why a balanced and objective book has not been published on this issue since vilification of Modi- and the State of Gujerat- is damaging to India’s image and economic prospects.
Much more important is the impact that reading Modi-bashing material will have on young people who may be drawn into militant activity.
Propaganda does not have to be based on truth to have its effect. Go on repeating ‘a big lie’ and it becomes the motivation for extreme actions.
Freedom of the Press should not become the basis for incitement to treason and communal hatred.

A real waste of time – got to this page really by mistake but……..(even could be a fake arguments on this site).
Let the culprits of Bombay / Gujarat and other riots from both communities be truely brought to justice. Let the government and the forces of LAW work in that direction.
BJP & VHP have disintegrated the communal harmony of this country and their cheap grade politics is hindering the progress.
Only education can open the eyes and mind of the masses of this country and put the word “riots, terrorist and killings” a non-existent word OR a thing of past

What an amateurish debator!
